The Bold World of Mobile Bidding

As Development professionals (or savvy fundraising volunteers) you may be debating hiring a mobile bidding company for your next benefit auction event. Did you know that with mobile bidding guests can bid from anywhere at your gala venue? There is no need for your guests to hover over prized items. Now they can bid from the bar, while they’re socializing with friends on the other side of the room, or from their table. How?  Once registered, a guest can meander the Silent Auction area, bid at will and receive notifications whenever they are outbid. This leaves them the option to bid higher (and you know they want to!) for that prized dinner, hot air balloon experience, or theater outing.

Plus, bidding can begin in advance of your event, and can also include those who may not be able to attend your event in person. Just found out that one of your major donors can’t make the event this year because of a conflict? Allow them the chance to participate remotely. Do you work for a school where alumni giving is part of your fundraising plan? Imagine the opportunity—let alone the potential—for including those who cannot attend in person!

Here are some other pluses… Mobile bidding eliminates closing time shenanigans. No bids can be placed after the Silent Auction closes; all bidders get notified what they won; and there is no need to produce reports or make announcements. Bid increments are calculated by the system and assure correct jumps. And imagine the data you will be able to pour over to see who bid on what, how often, what they spent, and what items sold under, at, or above their fair market value!
